The mill was located within a couple of miles of that house an d it is quite possible that I went to a cane grinding there (Daddy was a people person and we never missed a cane grinding, a fish fry, a church dinner and if there was ever a crowd of two or more people in Berrien County, you could count on Daddy being one, whether at the post office, a store . . . .)

1896 Mule Powered Cane Syrup Mill 114 Years Old!! This is a mule powered cane mill made by W.B. Belknap and Co. in Louisville KY. It is Model 2 manufactured in 1896. It is the "New Blue Grass" model.
