I've been looking at the 3-roller Monster Mill and some o the usual suspects in the 2-roller lineup (Cereal Killer, Barley Crusher, etc). Is it worth the extra money to opt for three versus two? I like the durability of the MM so I feel that I'd get good value for the price point.

2. Use your feeler gauges to adjust the gap to where you want it on both ends of the roller. 3. Tighten the 2 thumb screws on the base. 4. Check that the gap is still where you intended to set it. (if it is not, go back to step 1) I would use the feeler gauges to determine where it is set now, and adjust down from there.

My old way of hand-cranking grains using a 15yr old single roller PhilMill got pretty old once I started making 10 and 15.5 gallon batches, including grain bill heavy big Belgian beers. After looking at the usual roller mills, plus dedicated motor, this Maltzilla was very competitively priced.

I have a 2-roller Monster Mill, but am not impressed with its use of bronze sleeve bearings. It works OK, but if I were to do it again, I would opt for the Cereal Killer, which uses better bearings and is cheaper than even the lowest-cost MM. Only the top-end Monster Mills use ball bearings, and those models run well into the hundreds.
