My favorite grinder was Sioux. If the collets are proprietary and not available I'm not sure the machine is useful. The Sioux and B&D had a head kinda like drill press Chuck so there were no collets involved. Like has been noted valve grinders are not really made for anything but grinding at 45deg on the main head and if it has a stem grinder ...

I have a Sioux model 645L valve face grinder. The belt that drives the chuck broke. I have a replacement belt but can't figure out how to remove the shaft to put the belt on the pulley.

I just purchased a Sioux model #645 valve grinder for my own personal use and I'm having issues with the chuck. First, when I ground a test valve it left high and low spots all around the valve. I then disassembled the chuck and thoroughly cleaned and lubed it and found the thrust was not set properly. This got rid of the high and low spots.
